Free Veevus Thread

J. Stockard is currently offering a free spool of any in stock veevus thread, with free shipping. I'm not sure if you have to make other purchases to get the deal as I ordered some other stuff and it all shipped free with the automatic discount for the spool of thread.

Total discount was $7.95, which equates to the $5 shipping charge and the $2.95 charge for the spool of thread.

I bet you can just get the thread without ordering other stuff. This was a 'Facebook Friends' promotion, but the coupon code for the offer is VEEVUS

I've been wanting to try this thread for a while, but was put off by the $3 per spool price tag - with the free spool I now get to try it and see what all the fuss is about!

Go get 'um!

Irish International Fly Fair June 29-30 2013

Just a note that I've been invited to tie at this event next year.
Being originally from Northern Ireland it seems like a no brainer to attend, and plan a trip home with the family.

Really looking forward to it. You can check out the event at this link

Anyone in the area who reads this blog, be sure to stop by that weekend if you're free and say hello. This will be my first time tying at IIFF

Jenny Lind - Dyed in the kitchen and survived!

So I've wanted to tie this fly for a LONG time, but the scarcity of purple quills kinda hindered my progress.
This past weekend  decided to give dyeing a go, and convince the wife  to let me do it in the kitchen, since there really was no other way to get it done.
